Rooftop air conditioning unit maintenance

Correct use and routine maintenance can not only extend the life of the rooftop air conditioning unit , but also improve the unit's efficiency and reduce energy consumption. It is recommended that the daily operation and management and maintenance of the unit should be performed by employees with professional skills. The daily operation of the unit should be checked regularly to determine whether the unit is in normal operation. If there are any abnormalities, deal with them in a timely manner. And record monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance in a book to facilitate handling of unit failures in the future.

1. Ensure that the grounding mark and terminal posts in the unit’s electrical control box are firmly connected to the earth;

2. Check the power supply and compressor phase-to-phase voltage regularly every month;

3. Before each start-up, you should confirm whether the compressor oil heater is always powered on for heating;

4. Unless it is an emergency, do not shut down the unit by cutting off the main power supply or the air switch. When the unit fails and alarms, press the stop button of the unit first, and then check the cause of the unit failure. Do not force the unit to start running before the fault is eliminated;

5. Regularly check the operation of the unit, check whether the high and low pressures of the system, lubricating oil level, etc. are normal, and deal with any abnormalities in time;

6. Regularly check the pressure difference between the front and rear of the compressor oil filter. If it is greater than 2.0kgf/cm ², it needs to be removed and cleaned, and at the same time clean iron filings and other impurities under the oil tank; (specifically refers to semi-hermetic compressors)

7. Regularly test the compressor lubricating oil, including viscosity, pH, water content, and oil pollution. If there are any abnormalities, the lubricating oil needs to be replaced;

8. Regularly check the tightness of the unit's wiring posts every month, and check whether there are signs of burnt contacts, overheating of wires, etc.;

9. Regularly check the compressor suction superheat and whether the exhaust temperature is normal.

10. Cleaning and maintenance of humidification barrel

The humidification barrel is a key component of the electrode humidifier, and its normality is closely related to the humidification effect. Due to the large differences in water quality and hardness in different places, the service life of the electrodes in the humidification barrel varies. In order to make the humidifier work better and extend its service life, equipment managers must frequently maintain and clean the humidification barrel.

Cleaning steps:

First, cut off the power of the humidifier, remove the connectors and wires, and pull out the humidification barrel from the base.

Remove all scale and silt from the barrel.

Tap the barrel gently to remove as much scale as possible from the electrodes.

Check the water level detector on the upper part of the humidification barrel and flush it to remove any impurities attached to it.

Clean the filter in the humidification barrel.

Things to note:

Do not use acidic or chemical detergents when cleaning. If scaling is severe, weak acid solution can be used for cleaning.

If the humidification capacity decreases due to insufficient water conductivity, add a little salt to the cylinder.

For areas with poor water quality and high hardness, users should be equipped with 'water treatment devices'.

11. Maintenance of steam heating and humidifiers

When installing steam pipes for steam heaters, a 'steam trap' should be installed at the outlet.

A 'water trap' should be installed at the condensation outlet at the bottom of the steam humidifier separation tank.
